Govt.Model Degree College, Yerragondapalem was established on 17.09.2008 by the Govt.of Andhra Pradesh in the predominantly backward, interior, rural and tribal village to cater to the needs of the innately potential rural youth deprived of higher studies. The College affiliated to Acharya Nagarjuna University, Nagarjuna Nagar, Guntur, offers 6 different Undergraduate Courses in Science as B.Sc(M.P.C) (BZC), B.Com(General & Computers) and Arts(B.A) with above 300 students on its rolls.

                        During the last Two years of its existence, despite the lack of ideal physical and infrastructural resources, the college has given its best to the students and offered an opportunity to many a hidden young talent to shine and prosper. The College and its staff have set several academic landmarks in terms of academic excellence and universe results which have been consistently higher than the many other college averages for various courses in the District. 

                       The Potential achievements of the college are known by the availability of suitable buildings, sufficient infrastructure, adequate equipment and limited student services which have been necessitated large classes, combined classes, equipment sharing, good library with volumes of books on various subjects and support to extracurricular activities like sports and games. Many of our students participated in various sports meets at University Level, District Level and Zonal Level. We also had NSS and JKC for Training and Placements. We also give career guidance and free training which helps for Government Jobs.

                   Our Scholastic Faculty and Committed Non-Teaching Members are striving and putting their best efforts for the betterment of college.
